Educational Mission.
At P&O TNG, we provide engaging presentations to grade school students, educating them about the fascinating field of prosthetics and orthotics. Join us in spreading awareness and knowledge in a fun and interactive way.

We believe in sparking curiosity early. Our educational outreach program introduces students of all ages to the innovative field of Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O)—a unique blend of healthcare, engineering, and human-centered design. Whether it's inspiring future healthcare professionals or simply expanding awareness, our grade-specific presentations are designed to educate, engage, and empower.
School Presentations
Career Fairs
We tailor our presentations to each grade level and by topic. For younger students, we introduce the exciting world of Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O), sparking curiosity and awareness. For older students, we focus on P&O as a rewarding and impactful career path.
Through our career fairs, we introduce prosthetics and orthotics as a rewarding career path and offer hands-on demonstrations of the devices students could one day help create. This engaging experience aims to inspire and educate the next generation of innovators in the field.

Tailored Presentations by Grade Level
Sprouts (K,1-2)
Our approach is centered around engagement and storytelling. We utilized circle time, read a P&themed children's book, and showcased a variety of fabricated devices in a fun and hands on manner

Seedlings (3-5)
This group receives a more structured introduction to the p&O field. They are presented with a wide range of devices and learn about what prosthetics and orthotics are, including a basic overview of the fabrication process.

Buds (6-8)
We expand on the foundation of P&O, and introduce potential career patheways in the P&O field. we also provide recomendations on relevant classes and workshops that couls support early intrest and preparation.

Blooms (9-12)
Will be given an in-depth presentation that covers the scope of the P&O profession, the fabrication process, and detailed information about educational and career pathways within the field.

Tailored Presentations by Topic

LLLDAM Awareness
Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month (LLLDAM) focus, including conversations on accessibility barriers. Aligns well with any community helpers unit.

S.T.E.M.
Sep 19th National P&O Day: Presentations and/or workshops including S.T.E.M. activities and demos. Aligns well with Terry Fox events.

Career Path
Presentations prefect for a career day or job fair, focused on introducing students to the P&O field and profession, the Technical and Clinical roles, and educational pathways into all Canadian programs.
